How does the Writing Test work?
The EnglishScore Writing Test is available on all mobile devices. You will see the option to take the Writing Test from your dashboard in the app once you have scored over 200 in the Core Skills Test.
Writing is assessed for the following sub-skills:
Language - the range and accuracy of grammar, vocabulary and spelling
Organisation - how well ideas are arranged and connected
Communication - how well the writer’s message is understood
There are 5 parts to the assessment, which are as follows:
1. Listen and write (Dictation) | |
2. Answer the question | |
3. Describe the image | |
4. Have a chat | |
5. Grade others |
Some of your responses will be evaluated by other users - you will only grade people that sat the same test as you. EnglishScore uses this, together with AI technology, to calculate your score.
Our scoring model was built by experts and designed for real-world interactions in the global workplace. Controlled studies show that our scoring performs as well as a human examiner.
