We want to make sure you are following our test rules and have a valid test sitting that is ready to be certified whenever you are able to purchase a certificate. Remember, our certificates can be used to aid with employment all over the world, so you want to look as professional as possible; the photos taken during the test will be visible on the second page of your certificate.

To enable you to succeed in this, we recommend the following conditions for taking your test:

• There are no unauthorised devices or materials in the room (e.g. laptops, mobile phones, smartwatches, study books, note-taking paper etc)
• You are completely alone 
• Your entire face is completely visible at all times
• You are appropriately dressed throughout the test 
• You are in a quiet environment with no interruptions (i.e. no public spaces or phone calls)
• You are silent throughout the test and do not read the questions aloud 
• You are in a clean and tidy environment
• You are sat or stood upright throughout and do not move around
• You are in a bright environment with enough light to see all of your surroundings 
• You are focusing on the test with no other distractions (e.g. smoking or eating)
• You stay in the same room throughout the test
• You have a strong internet connection and close any other apps you may be using
• You use a mobile device, not a tablet or computer. 
• You put your phone on to airplane mode
• You are on the latest version of the EnglishScore app

Please remember that our tests can take up to 40 minutes, so your testing environment should cater to these conditions for that whole period. 

If you follow all of the suggestions above, you should be able to receive your certificate quickly and efficiently after it passes through our security review. If you have adhered to our security guidelines, purchased a certificate, and confirmed your name and photo in the app, you should then receive your certificate within 24 hours.
